to make the big move and declared would it strike but the bridge district said fine and made a big move and said we're going to cancel service entirely. negotiations have been going on since november 2009. the union is upset because 16 ticket agents are going to be replaced by ticket machines next week the bridge district is trying to close a gap of $89 million. they decided shutting down service would be the right thing to do, to cut to the chase and let the customers know because they figured other unions wouldn't want to cross the line but the employees were disappointed. >> we would appreciate it if they would focus more on the employees and 34 years of service and treating them in a way they can leave the judge but to disrespect them and cast them off in hopes we won't make a ruckus as we leave july 8th. >> i think our organization has an excellent track record in what we but put on the table. >> reporter: bridge officials are offering to reassign the workers that is being replaced by machines. hopefully the number of people that will be impacted will be smaller than usual. if you

't happen. >> no. and when the markets do open, it will be a big indication of what happened. the dow jones is down to 86 points, to 12,595. that's come down from the earlier drop of 100 points right at the sound of the opening bell. overnight all of the major asian markets closed down. again, they will reopen again. they are definitely looking towards washington, d.c. to see what happened. the biggest loser, the shanghai composite. australia lost 1.5%. japan finished up. the german market has wandered back into positive territory, a few times within the last few hours. the french and british markets remain down from the closing. now, related in all of this cody traders are taking action. crude oil prices fell below $99 but are now offer -- hovering above that point. some credit agencies are warning that they will drop the u.s. rating from aaa to aa in the next couple of days if the uncertainty continues. one commodity benefiting is gold, gold prices are up $16 so far this morning. record prices there. just about 1600 -- $1,618 an ounce. coming up, we'll have more on whether the debt talks

quality management district is expecting unhealthy conditions. so if you have big fourth of july plans, prepare for the heat. meteorologist leigh glaser is here. >> leigh: a westerly wind today and a little fog kept temperatures near the coast and the bay relatively mild. check out the highs inland. 98 in livermore. 95 in concord. san francisco, cool, 66. half moon bay, a touch of fog there today, 66. we had 98 in gilroy. a heat advisory has already been issued for tomorrow. mainly interior valley areas. in the north as well as east bay locations. this begins at noon until 9:00 tomorrow night. the reason why is because we're going to get into more of thers north-northeasterly winds and going to mean warmer temperatures for all of us tomorrow, but interior valley locations temperatures will climb as high as 104 degrees. so that is why that heat advisory has been put in place. we'll check out some details, selected cities, in terms of highs tomorrow in the a bit. >> john: police on the scene of a shooting near the intersection of loma verde drive in san jose. police found two dozen shell

made it difficult for our customers. >> and another big story, this 14 year-old girl was found dead by her parents this morning after hosting a sleepover in their home in santa rosa. maureen kelly reports, police are now saying that alcohol may have played a part in her death. >> i am here at the sonoma county sheriff's department. investigators say takimi reyo may have drank vodka and soda mixed in a water bottle along with three of our girls staying the night at her house. around 2:00 a.m. per mother of defined to of the gas vomiting. she believed that it was food poisoning. the mother cleaned them up in and send them back to bed. it was not until 9:00 a.m. on sunday when the mother and stepfather could not wake takimi. 911 was called in to clear dead by paramedics on the scene. the sheriff's department say it is unclear if the parents will face any charges. >> we are looking at all aspects. this is a very sensitive subject for the parents. they lost a daughter. we want to make sure that we find out and determine the cause of death and what happened. from there, we can move forwar
